The Way a Durban B&B Should Be

There is so much to do from our B&B not only in Durban North but also Durban and Umhlanga. Let's start first with Durban North, on your door step you will find...

Umgeni River Bird Park: A great day out for bird lovers and some stunning scenery. They also have daily bird shows.

Mangrove Reserve: This is a naturally maintained mangrove swamp and then there's a nature reserve over on Kensington Drive.

Have a morning at Beachwood Golf Course down on fairway. Great exercise and good fun. Then maybe go over the riverside bridge to the Durban Country Club - Another great course.

While you're over there check out Mini town and the put-put golfing. Great Fun.

While you're over the bridge go onto Golden Mile. There's great stalls there for local arts and crafts as well as the normal tourist prizes. There's a few nice clubs there like Joe Cool's and the fishing off the pier's is great for enthusiast.

This next one is truly a great value visit for a day or two. Ushaka Marine World. Many have lauded this as Durban's white elephant but for the visitor it's great value. Loads of water slides and rides, aquariums, the ship restaurant. all in all a great day or two out.

Beaches and surf are your love. We have some great beaches in Durban and Umhlanga. If you want a day in the sun, remember the sun block, Durban beaches are great. We recommend Umhlanga's blue flag beaches and umdloti's rock pools. Umhlanga also has a naturalist beach up the north end. The beaches in Durban are great but you will be accosted by the odd beggar and guys selling all sorts of things from cold drinks to sun hats to sun glasses. In Umhlanga and Umdloti you really do not get this problem.

Shopping, Durban is a shoppers paradise with Gateway Theatre of Shopping, La Lucia Mall and Westville's Pavilion. All offer bargains for the keen shopper and each shopping complex has things like cinema's, restaurants and such. At Gateway you can event go on a 4x4 trail or skateboard. Climb a rockwall or learn to surf.

Nightlife You ask? We durbanites love to hang back and relax. There are some great clubs in and around Durban from 80's retro to Jazz to rock and even comic clubs. Restaurants are your thing...Not a problem. There must be al least 50 restaurants to choose from within 5 kms of our B&B. From fish to Italian to chinese, to french to traditional African. There is so much to eat and the prices are keen too. Check in at our reception for the latest www magazine.
